Three Chords and The Truth
I remember Jackie Marshall performing at the Rick’s Bar in the Valley in Brisbane in the late 90s. I didn’t know her name back then. I just somehow clearly remember her with guitar in hand and listening to her unique and rich voice coming from the small dark stage, I couldn’t stop listening to her songs. Jackie Marshall has been known and loved by many of my music friends and has been a fixture in the Brisbane music community.

After this many years, I actually haven’t seen Jackie Marshall until recently. I am here in my South Brisbane studio meeting Jackie in the afternoon and trying to talk about a lot of things that happened to us in the last 20 years.

One thing we are celebrating for Jackie is the nomination for best actress in an art award film ceremony in Amsterdam.
I also found that Jackie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Have you seen the movie called Three Chords and The Truth? At its heart, this is a film about relationships – both deep and accidental. It is about the fallibility of humans and the mistakes we make just trying to figure ‘it’ all out.
But also the magic we can create when we open our hearts, and in this case, homes to the unexpected.

Newcomer Maisie Owens shines as Ruby, a young woman lost in suburbia. She is running from something, looking for something – neither of which she is yet to fully understand.

Enter Angie Cowper, played with devastating effect by screen debutant and acclaimed musician Jackie Marshall.

What an amazing women Jackie Marshall is. Her positive, easy-going and cheerful personality really creates a magnetism that is hard to ignore. Once again, now like before, I can’t stop watching Jackie as she captivates our hearts.

Jackie will fly to Amsterdam for the awards.
If you would like to be a part of her story, you can follow her on IG at @jackiemarshallmusic and contribute to her go fund me at https://aerospacetapeforsale.com/f/8b6r3s-amsterdam-or-bust
